FAQS Emerson Straw

If you have a question that we haven’t answered in our FAQ section please contact us today.

How are legal fees calculated?

Legal fees are paid on a contingent fee basis, meaning fees are paid at the conclusion of the case if there is a monetary recovery. The percentage of fees is determined by the type of case. Fees will be discussed in advance and will remain the same throughout the entirety of the case unless otherwise advised. If there is no monetary recovery, the client will not owe an attorney’s fee.

How are the expenses of my case paid?

The costs and expenses incurred throughout the duration of your case are advanced by the firm. When the case has settled, the expenses are deducted from the recovery. If there is no monetary recovery, the client will not owe the firm for the advanced costs.

How much is my case worth?

The value of a case is dependent upon many factors, including the amount of available insurance coverage, the nature of injuries sustained and the liability of the defendant. There is no true way to determine the value of a case based only on the type of claim.

Who will work on my case?

The attorneys at Emerson Straw exclusively handle personal injury cases. That means the attorney who handles your case will have an in-depth knowledge of Florida statutes and case law pertaining to injury claims. The firm’s Florida Registered Paralegal, Amy Castellano, is also active on all cases.

How long will it take to resolve my case?

Unfortunately, there is no way to determine how long it will take to resolve a case. The firm makes every effort to prosecute their cases as quickly and efficiently as possible.
